Desktop Slideshow with Windows 8.1

Feb 15, 2015 11:28PM PST

How do I get a desktop slideshow with both monitors having the same thing displayed?

I don't want my monitors displaying two different pictures. I want them to be the same when I have a slideshow going.

I don't want to span my images across both monitors. If I have a sunset image on monitor 1 the same image should be displayed on monitor 2.

And when it goes to the next picture, both monitors switch to the same picture at the same time.

Just like the desktop slideshow windows 7.

Or recommend me a program that will do this. (preferably for free)
Ive tried these so far:
Stardock Deskscapes (30 day trial)
Desktop Wallpaper Master

Re: slideshow`

If you set the video to "duplicate" it shows the same on both monitors. The alternative, on my Dell laptop, is "extend" and it shows different things. That's in Windows 7 for a normal display.

Are you saying that it's different in Windows 8, or different for wallpaper slideshows as discussed in http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/make-changes-to-your-desktop-background-slide-show
The problem is that those aren't shown by an application program, but by Windows itself. If Microsoft chose to change that it's unlikely you can change it back, unless it's a setting somewhere.

If nobody here knows, it's best to try a Microsoft forum or ask there Customer Service.

My monitor configuration is extended. Where I have more working space.

My thing is I have a desktop slideshow going on my windows 8.1 computer, it shows two different images on my monitors. Now If I just select one image from personalize ---> Desktop background it displays that image on both of my monitors.

But when I select multiple images (I have a folder on my PC just for desktop slideshow), for example it may display sunset 1.jpg on my main monitor and display sunset 32.jpg on my second monitor.

Both monitors should be showing sunset 1.jpg and when the 5 minute change comes up, Both monitors change the wallpaper at the same time to the same image.

My other computer is a Windows 7 machine and the desktop slideshow works flawlessly in it.

I tried that too.

Not the result I am wanting. All Tile did was tile the two different wallpapers on both monitors.

most of the results in the link above are talking about spanning. I do not want to span my wallpaper.

I just want the desktop slideshow to work like how it did in Windows 7 on my Windows 8.1 computer.

My bet is

It's not going to work without third part apps. As I have no need for these apps and won't get to my dual screen for a few days I think you should ask Ultramon and DisplayFusion for what they think about it.

http://dualmonitortool.sourceforge.net/dualwallpaperchanger.html notes same image on each display.

I'm sorry if I can't test all the other solutions today.

But only three titles so no offense I'm thinking of a Goldilocks and the Three Bears moment. Glad we found a workaround.
