Desktop replacement

by opus519 / October 20, 2011 3:51 AM PDT

Looking for a desktop replacement laptop, weight is not an issue. I've considered a Mac, but after 20+ years of using Windows desktops, not sure I wanna deal with the different keyboard functions etc. Plus I have little interest in using a trackpad, would likely disable it and use a mouse exclusively. In fact, I'd love to find a laptop without all that trackpad real estate in front of the keyboard. Also, I'm not sure what more money really buys in laptops.

Any recommendations? Thanks!

Outside of some touchscreen lab Windows tablets I can't find a laptop without a pad. ALL and I do mean all laptops I've used in decades have an off setting.

The laptop pickers at the top of this forum are a start.

has a removable touchpad but removing it leaves a gap so that would be very uncomfortable to use. I have been using laptops for over 10 years and I just use a mouse and don't disable the touchpad.
