desktop ram memory

hi i have x2 4gx1 ddr3 ge skill memory sticks and x2 4gx1 ddr3 raw memory sticks , can i use both to get 16 gb instead of 8 ? pros cons?

If I'm reading this correct you have 4 sticks of ram.
Each stick is 4GB and you want to know if you can install all 4 sticks.

You can try it and see what the results are.
Don't be surprised if you have crashes or corrupted data.
It's best to install matched pairs.
Same make/model.

2 sticks are one brand 2 are another does that make a diffrence

If you mix ram you can get odd things to happen.

Grab a copy of memtest86 and put it on a disc.
Install all 4 sticks.
Boot the disc and let it test for 6 hrs.
No errors allowed.
