Desktop Question

Sep 7, 2007 12:23AM PDT

I would like to know how to remove the dark purple boxes from behind my icon names (text under icons is white in dark purple box) on desktop. They don't look right with my background choice. I'd like white text on my background only.
Any help appreciated.

Use the desktop display "properties" setting and play with it. Find what makes you happy. Click on a open area of the desktop display->properties->appearance->chose, then apply

That might not do it.

Try this;

Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > System > Advanced tab> Performance section > Settings Button, scroll down and put a tick in: Use Drop Shadows for Icon Labels on the Desktop.

Hi Willy, have done what you suggest with no luck. There doesn't appear to be an "invisable" color for boxes.

Thanks
