Question

Desktop problems

Mar 4, 2018 11:59AM PST

I have an ASUS M32 Series desktop. Its original specs are: i5-6400 Skylake, DDR3 4GB ram, GeForce GT720 2GB, HDD 1TB, Windows 10 64x. I upgraded the ram to 8GB and the gpu to a ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1050Ti.

About 1 day ago ( on 03.03.2018 ) when I turned on my pc it did not respond at first. When I turned it on again it said "Automatic Repair" and it was just a loop it did not do anything. Everytime I start it up it either says Automatic Repair or Diagnosing your PC or some other weird messages.

So I tried starting it up and shutting it down 3 times, it gave me 2 options to either restart the PC or go into the advance options. Restarting the PC did not do anything I tried it many times. When I went to the advance options I could only do a factory reset due to me not having a some sort of backup.

I tried factory reseting my PC. It works at first showing "Reseting PC ..%" but then it puts me in a loop saying Undoing changes and it stays like that for a few hours then it sends me in a blue screen saying it couldnt reset the pc.

I need help, I really need my PC to work I have alot of school stuff to do ;C.

This is typical of a failed hard drive.

As to no backup or restore media, since it ran W10 you can create a new install and repair USB stick. Google this:
Microsoft Media Creation Kit. Since you did a factory reset, I take it no files were in need of backup.

Try a clean install and then the drivers and apps for your PC from Asus.

Would I have to go into the Bios and start up the ISO file for it to repair or install W10?

That would be a first.

I have yet to see any PC to date boot up an ISO file. Do you have a newer PC that does this? I haven't seen it to date and even our latest Asus Vivo doesn't do that.

Google the term I noted for how to create and use the W10 install and repair stick you create with this tool.

When I use it, I have yet to see any mention of an ISO file. Where are you going to get this?
