Help! Having some troubles with my acer comp, when started the screen goes black and this message pops up 'A disk read error has occurred. Press ctrl alt delete to restart'
What does this mean? How can I fix it?

This means repair is needed, and it sounds like you can't do that yourself.

A likely outcome is that a new hard disk is needed. It's quite well possible this also means that you need to reinstall Windows and all your applications and get all your data back from your backup.

at what point do you see the error message - before or after you see the windows screen. Also we need to know the full model number of the pc and what operating system you are running.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
