I continue to use the last free version of Fences on 8. But to answer your question. No. It appears Microsoft didn't consider this to be a priority. Sinofsky and the crew seemed obsessed with Metro.

In this day of widescreen monitors and higher resolution, I'm finding myself with tons of icons on my desktop. When the system reboots, more often than not, all those icons are moved to another position, infuriating ! Is there a way of making their positions permanent?
Any help would be truly appreciated.
Windows 8 pro OS, BTW
Thanks
