Desktop icons on W8.1

Jan 14, 2015 2:32AM PST

On my WinXP machine, I found a small tool that locks my personalized icons in position on my desktop, because when the PC reboots, Windows reshuffled them. With my new 8.1 PC, Windows does the same thing... all my icons are shifted around. The old tool will not run on 8.1 Does anyone know of a setting or tool to keep icons in place? (Note: I am referring to regular desktop icons, not W8.1 tiles.)

Bob, thank you. After additional research, I found that there is an update to the save/restore icon dll from MIDIOX.com There are versions for most systems (xp, vista, 8.1, etc). It's working again.
