Desktop hangs arbitrarily after memory upgrade

Mar 12, 2010 6:28PM PST

My desktop was given very good service before I upgrade the memory to 2Gb. Thereafter, it will start normally, but hang while using any office package or scanning document into file. It has no pattern, just stops responding to mouse or keyboard.
System details are:
Computer ACPI x 86 based PC
RATING: 3.6 Windows experience Index
Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.66 GHz 2.67 GHz
MEMORY: 2.00 Gb
System Type - 32 bit operating system
WINDOWS VISTA Home Premium, Service Pack 2
DISK drive: WDC WD800JD-00LSA5 ATA device
Display adapter: Radeon X1550 series

Can anybody help me get it back to normal?
