Desktop Background

Sep 20, 2010 5:45PM PDT

I have just bought a Samsung Netbook running Windows 7 Basic.

So far I have not found a way of replacing the rather boring plain blue desktop background with something more interesting, like one of my own pictures. It is quite simple to do on XP and Vista.

Can it be done please? Any help appreciated

Desktop Background Win 7 basic

Thanks peacox, I thought that too, but unfortunately it doesn't work with my version of Windows 7 basic. Rather surprisingly there doesn't seem to be a means of altering that boring plain blue background, short of upgrading to Win 7 Home Premium, a very costly way of getting a different background. Anyone got any different ideas?

I personally use SharpEnviro windows 7 shell replacement, also there is an app you can get called UltraMon that lets you customize your backgrounds, etc, especially if you are using dual monitors.
