desktop background

hi all i have acer travelmate 7510. 1gb ram .dual core processor.
windows vista home premium.problem is right clicking picture or photo
to make desktop background will not work.also all themes from personalise menu seem to be missing.it could have happen,d trying to load incompatible game.
would a repair with system disk fix the problem,or is there an easier way. thanks jeff.

Use your restore option, inthe start search box type "restore" without the quotes and press enter. Use the "Repair windows using system restore" option and restore system to before the problem started and your problem should be fixed.

thanks for reply,i tried restore but for some reason no restore points
have been made its a fairly new laptop and don,t understand why no restore points made.i made one manualy since problem.

Navigate to accessories -> right click command prompt -> click run as administrator. At the prompt in the command window type sfc/scannow. This is the system file checker it might find the corrupt files and repair them for you. If that doesn't work a full restore with system disk might be your only option.
