Question

Dent on bonnet of car

Aug 22, 2017 11:27AM PDT

Hey there,
Quick question regarding some damage I've seen on a car. Looking at buying a 2014 BMW 2 series, found the perfect one yesterday. However, upon closer inspection, I noticed a number of dents/impressions on the front of the bonnet. They're but not particular deep, 5/6 circulated in an area, and it hasn't affected the paintwork.
I've had a quote to repair for £825, which still makes the car cheaper than I'd pay elsewhere. However, when spending this amount of money, I want to be sure that I'm not buying into something that could come with a whole host of other issues.
Does anyone have any advice/pointers? I have some pictures but it doesn't seem I can upload them here.
Thanks in advance,
George

And it's bonnet (hood for USA speakers) has some minor paint chips and the estimate was 500USD to bring it back to shiny condition. Since it was a few years old I opted for some do it myself touch up paint in a few spots and after a fresh wax I find it acceptable for a not absolutely new car.

You may differ on this view.

I think Yelp is on your side of the pong but here's our Ding Doctor:

Hi, George; Here, in the US, we have several companies that do 'paintless dent removal'. I've seen some of their work and am totally impressed. MUCH cheaper that going to a body shop! They, somehow, use suction cups and various tools and will actually come to your house. As far as buying a used vehicle, BEFORE you agree to buy it, have it thoroughly inspected. If you have to deal with emission laws, make 100% sure it will pass.
