ok i did a little research and found out an sata 2 ssd drive will work on a Serial ATA-150, but the ssd 2 will slow down to only handle the max speed of Serial ATA-150, which will bottle neck the hard drives full capability in speed, could someone confirm this to be accurate , thanks! Cool

there's not much you can do about that other than upgrade the controller. However, I am surprised the controller is sata I (this a very old laptop?).

discovering that the SATA 2 is backward compatible and that it will be performing slower than design, BUT the SSD functioning at only 150 will still be considerably speedier than the existing HD.

Go for it!
