Dell XPS won't start with wireless card

I just bought a new Dell XPS tower a few months ago, I had been using a wired connection then I decided to use a wireless one. So I put a DLink wireless card in it, I had used it on other computers and it worked fine. But when I try to start up the XPS, the lights flicker then it turns off. But when I take the card out it works perfectly fine.

Any ideas on what's the issue?

Dell Studio XPS 9100
Intel Core i7 2.8GHz
Windows 7 Premium
6gb Tri-Channel DDR3
1TB SATA hard drive
1024 ATI Radeon HD5670

It's time to try something else. I picked up this recently -> http://www.amazon.com/External-Antenna-Wireless-802-11G-Network/dp/B0037G2BMY

I think it is noteworthy since Windows 7 just works with it without me installing drivers. Quite a nice thing to happen.
