Those hybrid drives while they gave a mild uptick to standard HDDs are not enough to compare with SSD. So let's ignore that.
16GB is nice, I have such (Lenovo y510p dual SLI, 16GB RAM, etc that cost 999.99USD) It's mostly not taxed so for everyday folk 8GB is my nod. Still if you can, why not?
