Question

Dell XPS 8700 for 14-year-old filmmaker?

Dec 9, 2013 11:05AM PST

Calling out to anyone who knows a lot about PC models, (specifically Dell),

I am a 14-yearold filmmaker who's family's iMac recently died. I am in the market for a new computer to continue my films.

My budget is about $900, and I want the most bang for my buck desktop that could run my heavy-duty video applications.

I've done some research and wanted to explore the possibility of a Dell XPS 8700 model. I heard good things from Top10Reviews saying it was one of the best Multimedia PC's.

Is a Multimedia PC the best kind for filmmakers?

I haven't heard much about the XPS 8700, so I would like some personal opinions. Would a Dell fit my needs? If yes, what model and customization would you recommend? And if not, what computer would you recommend?

Sorry, I'm pretty new to the PC world, it has so many options!

Thanks!
Sam

Not much to report as we use them, folk complain about any little failure but it's a make we keep on buying as it's an ok value and company.
