Dell XPS 410 CD-RW/DVD-ROM DRIVE

My Hitachi Model GCC H10N CD-RW/DVD-ROM DRIVE is no longer working. Is the Hitachi Model GCC-H30N compatible
? Are there any suggestions for a different brand that would work?
Also, would updating the drivers help before I trash the original?

LG GH22NP21 22X E-IDE Super Multi DVD+/-RW Internal Drive, Bulk with Software (Black)

This will be compatible with by Dell XPS 410, even though the original I removed (Hitachi Model GCC H10N CD-RW/DVD-ROM) is SATA, not IDE?

I can't tell why the first time I looked up that drive it looked to be IDE.

Now that we know it is SATA instead of a few hundred models there are now more models that will do fine.
