dell xps 15 query

I plan to buy a Dell xps 15 with the configuration as follows :

* core i3 processor
* 4 gig DDR3 RAM
* nvidia 420m 1 GB graphics support

my doubt is whether the i3 processor will be able to take the full advantage of the 420m graphics ? I don't know much about processors so please advice .

but if you buy a laptop with i3 processor then it will not be a gaming laptop.
