Dell wifi lost

Jul 27, 2019 1:08AM PDT

My Dell latitude e5440 lost its wifi after installing Windows. I downloaded all the drivers listed under my service tag from Dell website. Ethernet is working. My service tag is 5p8zg12

You have to install them too. but with a Dell you have to turn on WiFi with a switch on some models and on many use Dell's QuickSet app to turn on WiFi.

I've seen techs and clients burn up months trying to fix WiFi then I get the unit, install motherboard chipset driver (package), WiFi driver and then QuickSet and it's working as I turn on the WiFi with either the switch or QuickSet. These folk are usually completely unaware that the trinity is these three items.

If the WiFi is truly dead and gone we rarely fix that. We plug in some USB WiFi and it's done for under 20 bucks versus hundreds to re-install and more.
