Resolved Question

Dell - Webcan Issue ???

Feb 17, 2012 10:43AM PST

Hi

I've got the Dell Vostro 1510 laptop and I'm trying to use the built in webcan but have no idea how to switch it on. I've been in to system preferences and everything but still no luck.

Can anyone suggest?

Thanks.

However I have used APPLICATIONS or programs like Skype that use the web cam. But you are right, no "On" switch.

Hi Bob

Do you mean when installing and using Skype it was then possible to use the webcam?

Come on guys a little more feedback on this if you will.

Sorry I can't know that.

I do know that apps or applications may use the webcam feature but if the makers are not supporting you and you are not willing to try apps to see what happens PLEASE tell more.

I am encountering a new group of users over the last year. Some need a lot more hand holding and can't work with advice such as "try Skype."
