Dell vs Velocity

Jun 23, 2005 10:53AM PDT

Right now I am looking at buying a dell 8400 vs a Velocity Vector SX-V. The two have almost identical specs but the Vector is about $150 more. I kind of want the Vector but am wondering if it's really worth the extra 150.

If you have the time, do build your own. What specs are you looking for? Highly recommend 64-bit capable processor and pci-express gfx slot. You can get this in an emachines. the t6520 is a media cnter also, dont know exactt specs but expect to be a good buy, especially due to the back-to-school sale!

build it yourself. save money and pick the exact components that you want.

but to answer your question, velocity micro has a nicer case, a STANDARD power supply, and is also avaible in with an amd cpu.

thats my 2 cents

Realizing building a PC is not for everyone, to answer your question, would require more info as to "almost identical specs". So, a $150 difference in what?
Gee, it would be nice to see the specs and what difference in the two to give an opinion.
Otherwise you are wanting an opinion on just Dell vs Velocity, and IMO I would pick Velocity for having a better selection of what I personally would want.

I would normally say build your own, but if you don't want to, then DEFINATELY go with a velocity.

Dell sucks and here is proof of it: ihatedell.net
