Dell U2711 - Is the screen really this bad?

Aug 3, 2010 3:36AM PDT

Hello,

I've heard people on the the web complaining how bad the anti glare (matte) coating on the screen, but I figured they were exaggerating. I mean, professional websites give it phenomenal scores of 90+/100! Yet mine arrived yesterday, and I can't stand the screen! It's foggy, kind of like steam on glass all over. It's apparent on any color, especially on white. I can't possibly believe that it's supposed to be like this, as it is totally distracting and doesn't even provide a clear image. Is mine just defective, or are the people reviewing these monitors insane?

The sooner you yelp the sooner the return process can get going.

Thanks for the reply. So it's fairly obvious that my display is just defective and doesn't normally look fuzzy and sparkly?

The sooner the better.

It varies a bit from state to state but in California you had 3 days to exercise your rights to return and get out of the deal.

There are no Dell folk here so get on the phone fast.
