My problem exactly! It started a few days ago. When I use restore all is fine but then it goes wacko! pointer starts to drag etc. I do think it is related to Windows Updates..I have configured the updates now so they only install if I select them.
I have no idea how to solve this.
Hi,
My OS: Windows Vista 32 bit, Home Basic, updated to Vista SP2
Laptop: DELL Inspiron 1525
Issue:
My on-screen cursor freezes mostly. Though after few seconds it moves, but slowly, on constant dragging of my finger on the DELL Touchpad. When I unplug the AC adapter the cursor moves freely else things are back to square one.
Possible Cause:
Couple of months back, I faced the same issue after Windows Update installations which I could fix. Then, Dell Support guy suggested me to uninstall MS Patch "KB958687" after which it worked fine. Now I am facing the same issue again after two months.Could be a new KB by Microsoft win update?
Possible Fix:
I uninstalled the same KB two days back and rebooted my system but to no avail.
I am sure most of the DELL laptop owners face this, may not be as prominent as me. I need help to fix this issue as I do not want to drain my battery cycles. Please help me fix this issue. Do we have any other KB patch or other reason which is causing this issue?
Or is it some settings?
Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
