Dell studio 1536 won't turn on

by fed-up-with-dell / November 20, 2011 7:07 AM PST

hi everybody!
I have a dell studio 1536 laptop , it was dead since last year , i bought another motherboard from e-bay yesterday and installed everything was ok eccept i had to install windows again. I noticed that the dvd rom couldnt read any dvd as it was a previous issue which i tried to resolve by adjusting lens power level and failed as the motherboard died on me , but this time i did the same and i keep the toupad panel removed all the time, start and shud down the laptop couple of times and realised the dvd and hdd makes noise and nothing comes on display , i reassemble everything and did everything , reseting memory , removed cmos, swaping rams , AC in-out w/wo battery , changed heasink with fan as i had one , with no sign of display . i am so frastuated as this is the second time with this laptop and board is getting problem ,
keep in mind that aprt from swinging hdd and noise of dvd rom i dont see any other activity as laptop shuts down automaticaly after 9 (9 seconds) light flashes as i see in touch panel speaker button flashes ,
last time when this problem hapened the board was completly dead but this time it does the above activities .

It's time to consider a repair counter, dell repair or another laptop.

Yes.

But this will not fix this machine. And it won't tell us why this failed. At some point the cost to repair is more than another laptop.
