usually when i hit the mouse buttons on the laptop it will either restart or shutdown. battery is charged or it says it is battery seems to have indicator lights on the battery itself but ive never seen them lit up. i tried just using the ac without the battery and it powered up but then shut down when i hit the mouse button. anyone with a studio 15 laptop or someone that knows what may be happening. please let me know this is a almost new laptop want to know what it might be before i spend money on a new battery or something else. thanks

Sounds more like a motherboard problem. Still under warranty--contact Dell support.

Mine does same thing

Thanks for posting. My laptop also turns back on at random times after hibernating. End up loosing my batter power as a result, so have to carry charger every-where regardless if I would normally need it. Design flaw somewhere. But unacceptable. I will call Dell.

You don't say.

Remember the stock battery is 300 cycles so if someone used the battery every day, in just a year the battery is expended. You don't say much about the use or if it worked ok.

If almost new, then the one year warranty is what you use. Also, given how expensive laptop repairs are, why not keep it in warranty?
