Well, rundll isn't on the drivers CD or on the resource CD, it's on the Windows CD. Maybe you forgot to install that?

Recheck under the "device manager" what if any of the listing has a red/yellow flag present. You will need to correct any found, usually your disc(s) should contain what you need, but you may have to directly point to the required folder, etc.. Next, once that's done, you will need to install the XP SPatches, like SP2 with SP3 last, etc.. It all depends on your discs supplied is SP2 was part of the Dell 2400 package, etc.. Once all done, you can then try to update online anything that's needed. Dell 2400 is pretty old, so that maybe an issue as well and sgouldn't be excluded as a source of friction. If you require more than your discs can supply or yet latest available updates, Dell support website can help. Enter your service tag# at Dell support website to your proper area and get what you need.

When loading all the old Dell install discs, if they report some file wasn't readable or unable to load, that's a clue to possible missing/corrupted files, just make note of that as to the current file errors.
