Dell RETAIL store?

Jan 14, 2005 10:06PM PST

Is it absolutely necessary to order your pc online, telephone, mail, etc. or is there an actual physical store near Atlanta, GA that I can walk into and play on a potential new Dell computer?

Dell Retail store???

Hello. Did you ever get an answer to this question? I live in Baltimore and need to purchase the cable for the printer that came with my computer but don't want to wait to order it. I need it ASAP. Any suggestions?

Bob

Printers cost more if they furnish a cable :-)

Apparently Saxyman called the Dell sales (free) line and asked them.

I had heard they were going to open outlets in selected cities, but really don't know if it happened. Dell claimed in the past that by not having stores reduces cost, allowing savings to be passed on to customer purchases.

I live only about 70 miles from Dell, but they would not in the past allow me to pick up a computer from them and save the shipping cost. I don't know if they changed that policy and if someone can even go to the factory to try out a computer. I am going out of town for this weekend to visit relatives and one of my nephews girlfriend works for Dell. I'll ask her what the policy is now-a-days.
