Resolved Question

dell printer blinking power light

Jun 2, 2012 6:31AM PDT

What causes the printer power switch light to keep blinking? I have a dell desk top model vostro 220 and a dell printer model AIO 922. Both have been working ok until recently. I now have a prnter that won't print because it will not turn on. The power switch light keeps blinking. The owner's manual says that a paper jam is the cause. It is not the cause because I have done everything suggested to no avail. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If you're sure there is no paper jam, it's time for a new printer (unless you still have warranty, which is unlikely for a printer introduced in 2004). Repair most often isn't cost-effective.
But why not call Dell tech support as a last resort?

Hi Chasw1,

My name is Karthik_k_h and i am from Dell Social Media Team.
As per my understanding you have a Dell AIO 922 printer which has a blinking power-light.
Kindly follow these steps which could resolve the issue.
1. Kindly switch off the printer and disconnect all the cables attached.
2. Press and hold the power button for 15 sec to release the static electricity (Flea Power).
3. Connect the cables and try turning on the printer.
4. If it turns on and gives a creeking noise then try updating the firmware by logging on to
http://www.dell.com/support/troubleshooting/us/en/19/Index?c=us&s=dhs&cs=19&l=en
and download the latest driver.
These step will hopefully resolve your issue.

Regards,
Dell- Karthik.
