Dell PowerVault MD3620i - Unable to upgrade firmware - Data

by 4000andreas / April 28, 2015 10:52 PM PDT

Hello Community,

I get the following error message if I try to upgrade the storage from MDMS software:

Data validation error: The storage array cannot be upgraded as host port type representation in RAID Controller Module 0 did not match with those of RAID Controller Module 1. Contact a technical support representative to resolve this issue.

Thank you

I kicked it around a bit and each prior had folk getting in contact with Dell directly. I guess we could take the other road and start replacing boards. That would not involve dell.

There is another thought here. WHY do this? Is it borked?
