Question

Dell pavillion laptop running Vista won't wake up

May 8, 2011 12:52AM PDT

I have a fairly new (out of warranty) Dell pavillion with Vista on it and it will not come out of sleep mode. I didn't mean to click on "resolved" nor did I mean to choose best
answer, although it was the only answer anyone offered. I wanted to add
more to the question. Yes it will start in safe mode, but if I do a
system restore, will it wipe out stuff that wasn't saved? And how
exactly do I do a system restore? thank you for your assistance

About stuff.

If there is stuff you can't lose then you have to think if it's worth the risk of using this PC. That is, all it takes is one mistake or virus and it's over. Moving on.

System restore or SR should not touch our files. Maybe you were thinking about System recovery where we reset the machine back to factory installed condition? If so, system recovery is to be avoided when folk don't have their stuff backed up.

System Restore (SR) has never resulted in file loss for me.
