Dell P4 8300 won't turn on

by blankster / September 30, 2005 12:17 AM PDT

I have a dell 8300 P4 that won't turn on. I have had the power supply tested and they say it fine. Now they say it could be the motherboard, is this possible? Background: Purchased dell in feb 04 came with 3.0G, 1Gb, 800fsb, socket N, windows XP. I have the service tag if need to look up all oem. Only thing I added was a capture card several months ago and it was working fine.

When my Dell 4600 would not start Dell told me that it was the Power Supply or Mother board. When I took it to get repaired they took the battery out and put it back in and it has worked ever since. That was 6 months ago.

Sorry it been so long but without a computer its hard to check the forums.

I haven't got my computer back yet but that WAS what they were telling me also. Its either the mother board or power supply. But now the say it might be the power button....?

I hope this will work. Thanks for the input.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
