Dell Outlet?

Jun 1, 2005 8:46AM PDT

I have recently been considering buying a dell 700m. I found that in the dell outlet, a fully-loaded 700m can be found at around 1,200 MAX... a considerable discount from the non-outlet notebooks. My question is how reliable the dell outlet is, if there is anyone out there that can give me a short review or if there is any personal experience anyone has in buying from a dell outlet? I just want to make sure that paying less for a system is worth it and I won't recieve anything faulty or not what I had in mind. Thank you!

Dell Outlet
Jun 1, 2005 9:39PM PDT

I've bought 2 laptops from Dell Outlet. Let me tell you what Dell Outlet is:

Dell laptops get returned for any reason within 21 days.If something's wrong with them, it gets, fixed, and basically the whole laptop gets rebuilt. Each part is tested, and anything showing any wear is replaced. I received my 2 laptops in absolute perfect new condition, with the cases being brand new and the parts functioning perfectly.

The reason they do this (and cheaply), is because they can't sell that item as new again. Not that it isn't new (it is), but it's not customizable. Dell's only product is a customizable machine (save for a few managers specials). Dell carries NO inventory. So they will hold this returned laptop and wait for someone to order the same exact configuration, and then send it to them. Instead, they sell it at a discount.

So order with confidence from Dell Outlet--I use it for my whole company.

Outlet is great

I saved about $350 0n my laptop because I bought it at the Dell Outlet. So far I love it. It works great, and came with the same warantee.
Good luck
PS- Don't buy a cheap crappy laptop, spend some money and get a good machine (I didn't pay any attention to what you said you were buying).
