But that does not sound like a typical situation. I've not ordered anything from dell but I know people that have and they always got the order on time and with the specs they ordered. If it were me I would get my money back and find another place to buy. Do you live close enough to any stores that sell Laptops? I always like to see what I'm buying. There are lots of places on the Net that sell computers. Here's just one.
A month before I placed an order for DELL E1405 laptop because it had a good configuration and a coupon attached. I thought I made a good deal. And the shipment date was estimated at 20 days from order date. It was on the 20th day that I got e-mail from DELL stating that the shipment will be further delayed by 10 more days since they need time to get some parts. I felt it was OK and worth waiting. ALTHOUGH, I felt bit strange when they said I can cancel my order if I wish. Now, why on earth would I cancel an order that I placed 3 weeks ago ? So, I waited.......
On the day(second estimated shipping date), I called up Customer service to know about my order status. I was shell-shocked when they coolly told me that the model was discontinued and not available anymore. And also was asked to cancel the order and reorder. When I asked about if I'd get the same configuration for the same price again, they refused to accept.
Now, CONSUMERS ARE NOT FOOLS. Is this way they treat customers? Are coupons just an eye-wash? Is this just a gimmick to lure customers? Is this good customer-service ? Has anyone experienced like this before? Please help me and tell me what to do.
Are customers placing orders(as though all of us are jobless) only to know after a month that the order itself is invalid and cancelled due to no fault of ours ??????
