After I put my dell desk top to sleep. I wake it up and the computer comes on but i get no signal through the monitor. I end up having to turn the computer off and then turn it back on to get a video signal. Please help. Thank you

Answer
This is usually a hardware issue. Why?

Since all the Dells I know power up with some BIOS or other signal, this is usually a failed hardware issue.

Try other than sleep now. Try Hibernation to see if you can avoid a repair counter.

Here I try Hibernate since it's less likely to hang on resume. If you changed the OS, please tell so when you post. Otherwise folk may not know this.

Visit the Dell site at the link I gave above.
Enter your service tag number and see what they offer.

Time for Dell.

If it never worked, then Dell needs to fix that or it won't work on later Windows either.
