Dell N5010 quality

I have Dell Inspiron N5010 with TOSHIBA MK6465GSX hard drive. I've had performance problems with the hard drive and it has been replaced twice (and motherboard once, it got damaged in warranty repair). Now, I have problem again.

My question: Is the hard drive model unreliable or is there maybe some other part of the laptop that might cause problems?

The inspiron is not a performance model.

It's rather the Ford or Chevy model and is a good value. Your post doesn't reveal enough detail but something about performance. Since this is not a performance model what can be said?

misspoke slightly

When I said performance issues, I meant that it was really slow. Laptop froze for 20-30 s due to the hard drive and I got hard drive errors. Also, in the end even watching a video became impossible.

Hard drives are pretty finicky things.

In fact I just updated the Storage forum sticky about an issue that I finally found a great video about.

The drives are made by many companies and in the case of this model, if I suspected the drive, it would be out in minutes to test with a drive from the shop bench.
