In the circles I run, there are folk that would loan a drive out or let you come over to use their drive while you visit.
I have yet to find an alternative to the external USB DVDRW. Besides any CD/DVD drive and 13 bucks gets you an external so it can be cheap! Example at http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=2020
I've used cast off CD/DVD drives and that cable to help other make their own cheap externals.
My brother tried to play PC Repair Man and now I have a blue screen of death immediately following the Dell Logo switching over to the Windows logo.
Ultimately, I just want to run a system recovery so that the computer is starting fresh.
I've read a lot that since the Dell Mini 10s do no have CD/DVD drives, the best option is to hit CTRL+F11. This is not a guaranteed solution for all Dell laptops from what I've read....and from what I've tried, it doesn't seem to apply to mine.
I can't boot into windows to run this from the OS. Does anyone have an alternate solution than F11, using an external drive, or running it from within the OS? Is there a way I could get the system recovery to run if I have something on a USB drive?
Just trying to not have to drop money on the drive if unnecessary - Thanks!!
