Dell Lattidude D600-problem turning on

May 28, 2005 12:50AM PDT

Whenever I close my D600 for an extended period of time, when I open it, it won't work. The power light will come on, but no other lights will, and nothing will come on screen. As a result, I have to turn it off, then turn it back on. I have done numerous Spyware scans(with Spybot and Microsoft Anti-Spyware) as well as adware scans(with Ad-aware). This didn't help. My Lattitude D600 uses XP pro.

1. How long since you dusted the internals with some compress air?

2. Does it do this if you wipe the drive and install the OS as it came from the factory?

No.

The computer is less than a year old, and no to both of those. It works fine except those two items.

We let Dell fix machines and never give it a second thought.

It's odd you would get a Dell and a warranty then not use it.

I'd use it but...

I don't want to have to send my computer away when this (hopefully) minor issue could be fized without the need to do that.

Still seems odd to me.

Did you select on site or depot level service?
