Dell Latitude D820

by cnetgutowski / February 6, 2010 1:59 AM PST

I have a 2007 Dell Latitude D820. I need a replacement battery. Any recommendations on where to purchase? Dell replacement batteries seem to have a poor reputation. I also need to replace my internal DVD player. I would like a DVD burner/player. Any recommendations?

If you don't mind used

If you don't mind used on the DVD drive, check out and see what they've got. They sell batteries too, though usually they're the same things you'd get from Dell, just without Dell's significant markup.

Most laptop batteries are 300 Cycle units.

This is why I ask the following.

Given such low cycle counts on batteries why do people use the battery when there is a power plug nearby?

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
