dell latitude d610

Jan 1, 2010 8:10AM PST

I just bought a used latitude d610 and it didn't come with a disk to reformat it. I want to wipe it clean to get the other guys stuff out of it and start new. Do I have to get with dell to get a new rescue disk--will a stand alone windows xp work on this machine? Any help on this would be appreciated.

Standalone will be fine.

The only challenge is that same old challenge. Will you go to dell.com to get all the drivers? It's free but some forget to look for the drivers there. They will go to drivershack or pay for a driver finder!

So it will work if I use an XP disk instead of the rescue disk that came with it? I always build my own and never get store bought ones so I wasn't sure if it would work. I already have been to dells site and found drivers because when I got it it was missing the ethernet drivers. So I am good there. The only other thing was that I couldn't get it to connect to my wireless router but I will get to that after I get it cleaned out.

Sorry but the answer is simply yes. I carried on about drivers but you know that story.
