I'm encountering folk that think because a card, stick plugs in it should work. Sorry, stick to what Dell lists on their site as what works. Also some expect email replies but I find the PHONE and pleasantries to work along with payment for support (modest usually less than 100 bucks) is the answer.
But what are you trying to do here. You had wifi at least. Are you trying to add N or blue tooth? If so I find PC-Cards and USB dongles to be the answer.

My problem is this:
I have a dell vostro 1520 which has the half sized dell wireless card in. I want to replace the half sized card for a full sized intel 5100 wireless card. On opening the laptop it has 2 slots, 1 to accomodate 1/2 sized cards and 1 to accomodate full sized cards. If I remove the half sized card and put in the full sized card in the full sized slot, it is not detected. If I put the half sized card in the full sized slot it is not detected. If I put either card in the half sized slot they are detected ok, but obviously I cannot secure the full sized card in the half sized slot. So, in a nutshell how do I tell this dell laptop to use the full sized slot instead of the half sized slot.
Many thx.
