Question

Dell laptop 15 series, continuous eject action after boot up

Sep 29, 2012 8:59AM PDT

Hi all,
I have a Dell laptop (15 series). So when Windows 7 starts, it tries to eject cd/dvd-s that are in cd case (even when there is no disk inside).
Again, after 2-3 minutes, it runs "eject" again, and this repeating action continues for about 10-15 minutes.
Please help if you know anything about this kind of problem.

1. Boot SAFE MODE to see if that continues.
2. Boot but get to the BIOS setup and does it continue.

3. Sounds like a bit of malware, my Dell i15r does not use a software helper to do that so I'd try items 1 and 2 to sniff out if it's a hardware issue.
