Re: OS not found

That's a very strange message "Operation system not found" in your picture in the post on dell.com. Because it's bad English (it's "operating system"). I can't imagine Dell makes PC's with such a message in the BIOS.

Anyway, it seems you have yet to install an OS on the new hard disk. If it doesn't boot from your DVD-drive, try installing it from a USB-stick or an external optical drive. Or - much simpler - clone the old hard disk to the new one, if the old one still works.

At the moment... after having tried to do something like this.. maybe..

https://www.pcworld.com/article/3185777/how-to-install-windows-on-an-external-drive.html )

.. I believe I might believe something like that I might have seen something like a Windows setup or something like that load up like once or twice before going to some error screens.. then not happening again..

.. After trying multiple times again to run windows.. install windows on the laptop still haven't come across that again yet in a certain kind of a way?

The drive will still work to a certain extent in a other laptop as in being able to be read maybe ?

...?

... Still coming across "Operation System not found" ?

windows only wants...

....to be installed on the system bus for IDE/PATA/SATA. It usually does fail when attempted from USB.

Here's a thing.

I've seen folk format a drive that they intend to install Windows on and in so doing trip up the Windows installer.

Also, if you take a drive from one machine to another, you see a lot of boot failures and a lot of error messages. This seems to be common for techs on their first day out.

....

Well..

Maybe.. after some things.. something like some things..

I have .. maybe have Windows 10 Enterprise installed on a computer..

...

https://www.easyuefi.com/wintousb/resource/run-windows-10-from-external-hard-drive.html

... maybe having done something along the lines of something like that..

maybe..

... I have reached a result where after trying to do some "updates" to Windows 10...  I have encountered some things like

"

Windows Update

.. Windows 10 couldn't be installed..

You can't install Windows on a USB flash drive using Setup.

...

and maybe after trying to Recovery..  Reset This PC ..

We can't reset this PC

Your PC can't be reset because it's running Windows To Go..

...

At the moment I also believe I might believe something like that I might have still been able to encounter the "Operation System not found" like message.. while still being able to access now a Windows 10 installation.. to a certain extent.. maybe..
