I've had my Dell Inspiron for a few years now and I've typically at the point had to replace the battery and the AC adapter as well as format. Hardware was replaced by 3rd party parts from Amazon. I noticed that my laptop was having more and more trouble charging. I was getting a window telling me that the computer couldn't detect or figure out the power source. I had an 'X' over the battery icon. My power socket seemed quite wobbly too. I assumed that it must be the root cause of this. It got to a point where my computer run out of battery and the laptop wouldn't turn on through the AC. I dissembeled my laptop and replaced the internal DC jack. I tried turning it on after it was put back together. Still nothing. Ive noticed that when I plug in the AC, the light on the adapter is flashing. When I take it out, it stays on like normal. I'm not sure what's happened. Have I fried the motherboard somehow? The inside doesn't look burnt at all. Anyway, any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
