Dell !!!

I have an Inspiron 6400 ( E1505 ). Very good computer.

If you want even more performances with the Dell, take a 7200 RPM. You'll have less battery life, but mnore performances. Take the 9-cell battery.

This Dell configuration should cost you an arm and a leg ... But this is a very nice config. Only one default : the wireless card. Take the premium card : the Intel PRO/Wireless. It worths the upgrade.

Toshiba Satellite A100-599

Hi there,
I'm from Romania and I got a A100-599 few weeks ago.I had the same dilema and in the end decided to go for the Toshiba. Was much cheper and it came with Vista installed.I payed about 1000 Euros for it from EMag.
So far I have no complaints about it. I'm using it for programming-Visual Studio 2005.
It has no problem running visual studio, tv watching(pcmcia tuner-no hardware decoder) and a chess game all at the same time.
The Dell model has about the same configuration the only difference is the video card so it should be a matter of taste and money :).
In tests, Toshiba scores about the same as the top ranked laptop in Xtreme PC magazine's romanian march edition(You should have a look at it).
So my oppinion is that if you look for a good value for money ,thoshiba should be the choice.
If money are not a problem, and you want a better looking laptop then go for Dell. But I doubt that the Dell model delivers better performance.
