by ThePoliteJerk / February 28, 2009 3:57 AM PST

Ok...I can't logon, I've tried the ctrl+alt+delX2 trick...doesn't work..

I cannot logon using still asks for a password via windows xp professional..

It doesn't have a cd or dvd reformat is out of the question.

Is there anyway to bypass? or will i have to buy a new hdd with a new vista/xp installation?

Well the reason it doesn't do anything is most likely it's not designed to boot from removable media.

Have you set the bios to boot from removable media? Do you have the appropriate files on the USB stick for it to BOOT? If not this will also cause it to NOT boot from USB source. How does the computer NOT have a CD drive?

Since this is XP, i'd suggest using Ophcrack as it's faster and can create a bootable USB stick.
