Do you have a trackpad that you can touch to click a button? If so, deactivate that feature.
This is all in the same area of the notebook which makes me think that perhaps your issue is some sort of loose or haywire connection between the touchpad and the motherboard.
This doesn't sound like a software issue, but if problem 1 goes away after the deactivation of the touch-to-click feature, write back saying so.
I'd take that machine in for servicing, it sounds like it needs to be opened up and examined.
I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop, and I've been experiencing some problems for the past few weeks.
1. Constantly as I type (it's happened 8 times since I've started writing this post) my "blinking line which shows where I'm typing" moves to a random spot in my text. For example, what I'm currently writing would all be written between "Dell" and "Inspiron" in my first paragraph until I notice it and put it back down here.
2. My scroll bar on the right of my built-in mouse pad (under the space bar) doesn't work anymore. I'm referring to the scroll bar that let's me quickly scroll down a lengthy webpage or document.
If anyone can help me, I'd appreciate it SOOO much! Thanks in advance ... it's been so hard writing this post since Problem #1 has occured nearly 30 times!
