Page 67 of http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/inspd531/en/OM/45605A00MR.pdf tells us it's some power problem. It could be a defective power button, power supply, motherboard or dead CMOS battery. Try one last thing. Remove the AC power for 1 minute, put it back and re-try.

Please can someone help.
I have a dell inspiron 531 running windows vista. It crashes every now and then as they seem to do. However yesterday after crashing I tried to turn it on again and it starts, as in I can hear the fans and there is power to the USB ports. However the power button remains orange instead of turning blue as it starts up and nothing appears on the screen. The monitor just remains in sleep mode.
If anyone has any suggestions I would be very greatful, thanks.
