If it's a dell, why not?

Why not take the Service Tag number and head to Dell.com to pop in the tab number and get the driver there?

Also, for under 10 bucks I use USB AUDIO dongles because shop rates for driver hunts are far too much.

Oh, if you think your circus (I bet it's really cirrus) sounds better than a 2 dollar audio I noted, read this.

...with a new computer with a new sound card, you may have a tough time finding an old driver that works. Frequently, it's not possible.. A quick check around shows a few possibilities, such as the XP driver at the bottom of the list in the link below, but since I haven't used it, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK, and you'll need to be able to install the driver from an INF file from Device Manager.

Since Dell doesn't show a applicable driver on their website and Cirrus Logic tell us that all support comes from the computer manufacturer, you might simply try contacting Dell to see if that have something that would fit your needs.

Hope this helps.

These are the ones available for your computer.

This is where you can maybe find XP drivers using Cirrus High Def sound chips on earlier models, which driver files may work on your computer too.

What Cirrus said about XP and it's CS42xx chips in 2001 for AC'97 audio systems.

Today's DVD standard calls for chips that support two primary audio decode surround-sound standards, Dolby® Digital and DTS® standards. For next-generation Blu-ray and HD-DVD formats, audio processor ICs must support up to six surround-sound audio algorithms, including Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS, DTS Master and DTS High Resolution, any of which may be featured within high-definition DVD disc media. Toshiba has later releases for certain Cirrus Logic chips. This is from Satellite 1000 S127 for chip CS4299
It is for XP system too and might work for yours.

You can change the ending to zip after downloading to see what's in it first if you wish, it's a self extracting zip file.
