you might need a missing video driver http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&ServiceTag=&SystemID=INS_PNT_P4N_2650&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=
Or it could be something as simple as your LCD screen is on it's last legs
This laptop is old but should still be functional. Starts up just great. The screen is bright and legible for about 3 seconds then goes to so dim I cannot read it, although I can see enough to see that the screen is still there. If I close the top and reopen it, it gets bright for a second or 2 then goes back to dim. The lappy is plugged in so it should work even if the battery is dead right? (I dont know the condition of the battery, but it does do the same thing with the plug out).
I tried plugging in an alternate screen but it wont use it. And of course I cant get to control panel b4 the screen goes dim.
Anyone have any ideas?
