System not powering on
by Dell-Vikram / July 24, 2012 7:44 AM PDT

Hi DaNNo2202

My name is Vikram and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell. I regret to hear that your system is not powering on. Please check if you see a light lit on the adapter when connected to the wall outlet and the system to make sure the adapter is workng fine. Alternatively, I will suggest you to connect an alternate adapter to check if that works fine with your system and if you are able to power on your system with it. If your system still does not turns on,unplug the battery and also unplug the adapter. Once done, press and hold the power button of your system for 10 to 15 seconds to release the static from your system. Please connect back the adapter and check if the system is able to power on.

If this reply was helpful or if you need further assistance, kindly respond here. I will be glad to assist you to the best of my knowledge and ability.

Thanks and regards

My dell inspiron 1750 will not turn on after the battery is drained, it has tge led white light lit when plugged in and after a few hours or the battery gets up to around 75% it finally turns back on. What might be the issue? Maybe time for a new battery?

I have a Compaq R3000 that will not boot if the battery is

Drained. It did this since day one on both R3000s so we accepted this was by design.

My advice is to keep it charged up to avoid the issue. That is, I'm not convinced there is something to fix here.
